Kindly advice what I should look for while configuring a gaming computer

So far I have figured out RX280 would be a good choice (considering mantle performance: http://www.pcgamer.com/2014/01/09/battlefield-4-demoed-...)

For the Processor I would go for i5 4th generation chip(or should i go with fx 8350)

Kindly advice how I should spend my money

so do you have $1000 for the tower or $800 after the screen?

Anyways the 4670k is a beast for gaming. Unless you can find a 280x for $310 or so, I can't recommend it over a 770. The 770 is a better card in every way and you can say "but mantle is going to be awesome". We haven't seen it even demonstrated yet. Even the demo at CES had lag spikes and was reported to have no noticeable effect really.

Only go for a Intel "K" chip and "Z" series motherboard if you intend to overclock otherwise you'll be spending money for no gain, money that will be better spent on a stronger graphics card or higher quality display.
For games like BF4 the AMD option is a strong one: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?s=69173... only the high end i7s can beat the less expensive AMD option but an i5 strikes the best overall balance between cost and outright performance.
There is no great difference between the GTX770 and R9 280X overall, each is a little better than the other in one game or another but neither really dominates.
It's impossible to tell how well Mantle will be received and what effects it will have, either way I will not base a suggestion on what may be but what IS and right now that means the GTX770 and R9 280X are on even terms as far as gaming is concerned, so get whichever suits you best.
