Thinking of getting new GPU. Having motherboard issues?

AMD A6 - 5400 dual core, 3.6Ghz processor with integrated Radeon HD 7540 GPU.
4 GB of RAM, DDR3 with 1666 Mhz.
250 GB HDD, WD Blue.
OS: Windows 7 Professional, 64 bit.

Thinking of getting a new GPU. But having motherboard issues. Will the Sapphire AMD Radeon HD 7750 be good with my board?

And my system came with a 240W PSU but the 7750 needs a 400W. Should a 500W be enough for the entire system or do I need something above that? Also thinking of adding another 8 GB RAM, bring it to a total 12 GB. Somebody please help with my motherboard issue.

The gpu will be compatible with your motherboard. Get an HD 7770 and 500w will be plenty for the entire system. Make sure the power supply has a 6-pin pcie connector.

I've had a look at pictures but I cant tell if your power supply is full size ATX or micro ATX. Could you open the case and find out, here is a comparison http://img.tomshardware.com/us/2002/08/15/whoohoo/netzteil.jpg ,

You will also need better cpu cause dual core APU is to slow for most games, maybe Athlon X4 760k, it should handle many games, if you don't have budget to buy at least 6core fx/i5 wit new motherboard.. And what motherboard issues you have?
Also as 'bluehowell' mentioned you need better psu, 400W would be sufficient, but it's better to buy 500W cause later it will handle better gpu and so on..

And there's no screws at all. The PSU just snaps into place on the cpu case.

I have removed my case and taken the PSU out of the case, and recorded a HD video of it. You can have a look at it. I'll have it up in a few hours on YouTube, it's 440 MB. Will put up the link here after it's done uploading.

I'm afraid you wont be able to upgrade your graphics card as you have a non-standard power supply which can not be replaced with a better one.

I have a 500W psu with me, fairly used, about 2 - 3 months old. I had an old intel cpu that was about 6 years old. I changed the psu as it was busted but then recently decided to get this new, better amd cpu. Since my psu was new, I removed it and sold off the rest of the old cpu, and got a small discount on the amd system.

The HP desktops do not use standard mounting for components such as the motherboard so you would not be able to change the system case, there is very little upgradeablilty for that PC, I'm sorry.
