PSU: CORSAIR Enthusiast Series TX650 650W
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate
HD: 1TB sata 7200 RPM

i'll be keeping the RAM/PSU/HD but i am willing to spend more. i want to keep it around $1000 but i am more than willing to invest more for better ram or just parts in general. ive had my current system for years now and its served perfectly. but i want to be able to run games on ultra again. (also i want to get a new headset/sound card - http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1980814/computer-gaming-setup.html - )

any suggestions? i5 the best for gaming? or is there another CPU that wont crush the bank but run well? suggestions on the ram also the GPU? i like the 4GB of ram on the card for a bit of future-proof-ness
