So I think I made a major blunder. I bought myself a pretty decent Asus IV Rampage motherboard for my FX 8320 from an Australian online retailer for $78 (knew something wasn't right) - only to find out it isn't new but refurbished. Now having finished a new build the last thing I want is the doubt of whether the most important component in my build is being held together by glue and duck tape (exaggerating a bit of course).

So should I tell my dad, who is funding this whole build, and return it, (shipping will be $50 and non refundable) and buy a cheap brand new mobo under $100 or keep it and hope it works for at least a year?

BTW warranty is 30 days but if it can last a year I'll have enough (of my own) money to buy a proper gaming mobo. So which side am I on?

Hammer it really hard for three weeks;see if it holds up.
Any problems should show up. Then you are worry free, most refurbs are just returned because a driver
disk was missing, or the wrong board was shipped or ordered. It is unlikely if it fires up there are any major issues.
