I have a LG DVD writer in my desktop, that used to work properly but now it can't even read a DVD. It can only recognise & read CD. After putting a DVD in the drive the green light blinks on the drive but don't show any thing. In My Computer folder it shows DVD RW Drive (G) but when I open the properties it shows Type: CD Drive. How can I fix this?

Solution
I think you are looking at the TYPE under properties, which stating CD drive, look at the top of the window, see what it states ?

And I also think the LENS of the drive became weak, so DVD's are not reading, only CD's are.

If you have a Bootable media (DVD) of OS, then insert it and restart the PC, if you got the message " Press any key....CD/DVD", then probably your drive is ok, but that doesn't mean its 100% ok. You may have to replace it.
