Greetings,

I`ve just set up a desktop running windows 7. And im experiencing slow (not very slow) internet, compared to the other computers in the same network.

PC Specs

Asus Z87-Pro
Pentium 4 i7 4770k
4 x 8GB Kingston DDR3 RAM
HDD Samsung EVO 500GB
GPU Geforce GTX780 3GB

So, the hardware isnt the problem.

The wi-fi antenna comes with the motherboard, and the signal marks excellent, im just next to the router.

Does someone have a guess of whats going on?

Thanks!

I'm not sure what das_stig is trying to get at but you would have to log into your router via its ip address. How to get your routers IP address is open a command prompt(cmd.exe) and type ipconfig. The Default Gateway is your routers IP address then you type that ip address into chrome( or Internet explorer) hard to say what your default username and password is to get into your router tho....this website MIGHT help:

but yes kaspersky chrome extension would definitely slow the initial process down of loading a web page. Try Internet Explorer(slower to start up IE but once its up its quick) and surf around on that for a few minutes and decide if IE is faster than chrome if it is it's definitely your...

Do a speedtest at www.speedtest.net and post back your speed. And if your next to the router why not plug directly in, no point in wireless if your router is right next to your desktop. And is your router wireless N like the wireless network card in your desktop?

Another question whats a Pentium 4 i7? It's either a Pentium 4 or an i7 lol.

Sorry for the ignorance, its a i7.

The cable is already connected to another pc, cant connect it.

Speed test
Ping 0 ms
Down Speed 10.06 Mbps
Up speed 0.95 Mbps

The test is running ok, the speed is set right.

It looks like the browser takes a while before loading the selected adress. The page stays blank for a moment before really loading, when it starts loading, it goes fast. And sometimes i got keep pushing refresh to load.
