Also, if you are planning to record gameplay you DO NOT want RAID. You want to record to a separate dive that isn't running applications or games or anything.
That is why I posted all of the guides for him, so he could learn the risks and how to do it. I was suggesting a RAID format and an external anyways. With a USB 3.0 port and drive, (which we have set up in this build), he could achieve up to a 3Gbps write speed (5.0 in testing), That is as fast as the SATA ports that are left in his build.
Later on, he already has said he wanted an SSD in the future to speed up his system. At that point he could change the format to suit his new set up. (SSD boot/application , 1TB data, 1TB backup)
So why would he want a single 2tb drive? I'm not trying to be rude, but your statements contradict themselves. Even if he wasn't going to do a RAID format, two separate drives at 1TB would fulfill your current statement and at a sweeter price/gb then a 2tb and a 500gb.
I do agree on the cooler though. I am not familiar with stock coolers as I have never used one. I wouldn't get anything less then a 212 hyper+ but his au restrictions don't help the fact that everything is way more expensive.
