I'm running an i7 920 overclocked at 3.8Ghz, and an R9 290 for my video card. No bottlenecks here, and in 3dmark I basically tie with a rig with a titan and an i7 4770k. You can run one or two of pretty much whatever video card you wanted and not have an issue with bottlenecking in pretty much any game you would play until you're at ridiculous frame rates (civ 5, Company of heroes 2, and other strategy games in particular tend to be more CPU bound. Mantle supposedly is going to help with that, but we will have to wait and see).

The only thing you would possibly notice a difference in would be if games start to take advantage of more cores/threads later this generation, as well as in media editing/encoding.

I find it astonishing you've pushed that build to close of the equivalency of the said build but, I must say the Titan is an overpriced basic replica of the 780 with extra ram which I don't think is worth the extra $500.
