Hi everyone,

I bought a Clevo p150hm and tried plugging it into my Dell U2711 and it's not detecting 2560 x 1440p as a selected output.

I'm using a dual link DVI-D cable that came with the Dell to connect from the monitor to the laptops dual link DVI-I port.

I've updated the monitor's drivers, ATI Catalyst Control Centre, ATI Drivers.

I also check before buying this laptop that the GPU (ATI 6990m) was able to output 2560x1440p with DVI and it does http://

I've tried looking at the screen resolutions options on both ATI and windows and the maximum for windows is 1920x1200 and 1920x1080 on ATI CCC

Any help would be appreciated as I'm currently considering returning the laptop and pay an extra £60 for a displayport at this moment in time.

Thanks

This basically states that although the core tech "can" support something, does not mean it does in implementation.

You can put the exact same engine in different cars, but it will perform differently based on weight, gearing, drag, etc... You can write "this engine can run up to 160mph" which it may be able to, in a 1,500 lb car, if you install it in a 2,500 lb car, it won't.

Do the laptop specs for that particular model say it will output 2560x1440? If not, it may not support that.

There is some discussion about resolutions here also http://forum.notebookreview.com/sager-clevo/710469-connecting-clevo-p150em-p170em-external-monitor-question.html
