It stuck on installing update 8 of 15. I waited for about 1.5 hour until I shut it off. When I restarted it, it said ""Failure configuring Windows updates. Reverting changes. Do not turn off your computer" error when you try to install Windows updates.

After this, it kept restarting and restarting, while doing the same "changes" and "configurations". After the first 6-7 automatic restarts, the login/locked screen showed up. However, it would restart again if I tried logging in. But next time the login screen showed up, I turned the computer off by clicking on the turn off button on the screen. The computer started normally this time and I were able to get pass the login stage without the computer restarting.

I have a Windows 8.1 Enterprise x64, which I installed about a week ago. HP G6 laptop.
It now says I should restart the computer to install new updates.

Why did it freeze? A software or hardware problem? My computer or the OS?
How to fix it?

I'm getting really tired of problems with the OS that forces me to reinstall it and format the disk.
