As far as I have read all the Kavari boards avaliable to us need a bios update to support Kaveri. How can I do this if the only chip I have is my Kaveri chip?

Here's an example of a several-month-old board that needs a bios update, but the bios update (version 1003) wasn't posted until 2014-01-03:

In fact, I went to my local MicroCenter. The were about 12 of the boards in stock & boxes literally said "FM2+ Ready" "BIOS/Driver Updated Required" in the top right. I was hoping to find some indication on the box or board (MicroCenter lets you open the box & view the board) that the board did have BIOS 1003, but there was no indication. So I assumed that the boards left the factory more than 2 weeks ago and thus I did not buy the board or the Kaveri CPU.

I have read it on the motherboard manufactures website. I guess I'm just confused as to if I can apply the bios update with my kaveri chip or will the system not even start up with an unsupported chip.
