I am looking to buy a monitor for gaming console only, that console, the xbox one. I am not a hardcore MLG player, but want something respectable and cost appropriate.

The asus vg278he is what I have my eyes on. My question is, with only consol gaming, and I paying for the 144hz when I real don't need it?

I have also looked at the mx279h, which is a 60hz, but since it's only a console, would this be more toward what I should lean to?

Thanks in advance for all and any feedback!!

Console games have been hard coded for a certain amount of FPS at a certain resolution. You won't be able to see anything past 60Hz/60FPS on a console game. There are only a handful of games that will even do 1920x1080... if any. Most will be 720P

Thx skit! Would you have any recommendations on a monitor? I like to keep it at 27 inches. I also looked at the asus mx279H. I have looked and done my homework for days on this, but it haven't found that perfect fit for me... Yet

Here is a handy link to digest.

You want a monitor that excels in scaling (taking a 720P output and converting it to 1080P) without too much blurring of the image.
