Hello, I've been having fun as I recently upgraded to win 8.1, I was playing MTA:SA as my game froze, actually my whole main desktop froze, so I attempted to turn off my PC, it asked for win 8.1 to update, so I clicked for it to update, it took a long time and after it restarded it does not recognise my HDD disc, the SSD on which the windows is installed works great, but the HDD isn't recognised, it is as if it isn't even plugged in, it doesn't show in device manager or the partition manager..

more like Kaput! Sorry for your loss :-(

opent he case up, witht he power off, amd make sure the cables are down tight. If they were already try swapping cables with the ssd just long enough to see if the hdd gets detected in the bios.
