Can I ground myself with a 3,5mm jack AUX-cord?

I'm building a computer and I don't have an electronics store nearby where I could buy an anti-static wristband. I have a long AUX cord with 3,5mm jacks in its heads. This sounds like a stupid and desperate question, but can I ground myself by taping one head into my wrist and the other to an unpainted part of the case (with the PSU plugged in, but power off)?

Your method is kinda new to me, but I'm not sure it will work!

Stick to the PSU method, when It's connected to the wall but turned off, and you touch it often ( before and after instaling components most ).
Better don't try something new. The psu-wall works for sure!

If I were you I would just hold the side of the case. I don't even worry about it much anymore, ground yourself before going near it and don't slide about on a carpet and stand on lino or wooden flooring awhile doing what you want.

Some cases have a color paint on them, that won't help you more, but if your case has some unpainted parts you can do it! So carefull with this one!
