asus z87 motherboards with single ps2 connection

Hello everyone,

I know some parts of my question have been asked by others before so I apologise for asking again.

I want to buy one of the Asus Z87 motherboards. Most of them have only a single ps2 socket (split purple/green).

I share a single screen/mouse/keyboard between 4 computers and have to stick with ps2 for my mouse & keyboard.

Has anyone got any experience using the ps2 connection on the Z87 range sucessfully with a splitter attaching both a mouse and keyboard.

I have seen conflicting reports on various sites.

Having read your links, I also came across a pci card providing 2 ps2 sockets - http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0087NWCF8/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i01?ie=UTF8&psc=1.
