hi.

After having trouble with a game or 2 (elder scrolls oblivion and batman arkham asylum) I have been having problems with my computer crashing. the pc will make a funny noise and crash to a pure black screen.

I have read a few forums and heard a load of different answers so I have replaced the mother board, processor, ram, psu and I tested another graphics card and yet had the same problem.

I installed my new ram today (2x4gb corsair vengence) and the game has crashed again as normal.

I am a little confused as i have nearly replaced ALL the components in my pc and yet still had no luck.

I have read that with older games they crash due to processing power not being high enough as they are designed for single core instead of dual or quad.

heres my stats
*nvidia gtx 295
*corasir vengence 2x4gb sticks of memory
*amd am3+ 3.8ghz processor
*Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD5 AMD Socket AM3+
*ocz 750w psu
(using on board sound)

all drivers are up to date and bios has been updated directly as well as all windows updates updated.
hope you can help.

Computers don't crash just because they are too slow.....

PSU isn't wonderful, but at 750watts (claimed by them...) should be "ok".... (bad PSU's are one of the largest causes of trouble)

Second biggest cause is temperature. Download SpeedFan and check your GPU & CPU temperatures & POST....

The GTX 295 is pretty old, can you borrow a card from someone???
