Cool enough ?

Hey guys,

Just about to buy all these components. My question is will there be enough cooling for all the components in this build ? Last thing I want is for it to overheat.

Components are as follows

1. Asus HD 7870 radeon directCU II graphics card
2. AMD fx6300 black edition core 6
3. Corsair builder series CX 500 watt psu
4. Asus M5A97 R2.0 Motherboard
5. Corsair CMZ4GX3M1A1600C9 4GB 1600MHz CL9 DDR3 Vengeance Memory Module (x2)
6. Seagate ST1000DM003 Barracuda 1TB 3.5 inch Hard Drive
7. TP Link TL-WN881ND 300Mbps Wireless N PCI Express Adapter

And finally...

Everything should be perfectly fine.

I might recommend you change the PSU to an XFX550. It is MUCH better quality than the CX line from Corsair which is made with inferior capacitors.

Ultra? no. It should be able to run most all modern games at high.

better get r9 270 for gpu i consider it better lower tdp and higher bandwidth and close price.

The 270 is NOT better than a 7870. It is slightly worse. the 270x is slight better:http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/1034?vs=1043

The order goes like this 270x > 7870 > 270 > 7850

oh yes r9 270 is better than hd 7870 in many aspects. tdp bandwidth higher frequency, direct x, open gl. etc.

None of that really matters in the long run. The point is that the physical processing power of the 7870 is greater than the 270.

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/radeon-r9-270-review-benchmarks,3669-2.html aside form two games that are not graphically taxing and don't really count, the 7870 beat the 270 hands down.

Unless you can get the 270 for $20 cheaper than the 7870, it is not worth it. Bumping up from the 7870 to a 270x is worth it, however.

In my experience heat has a lot to do with case choice. I am interested in the Fractal Midi R2 for this reason.

The bitfenix Shinobi that OP selected is a great option and has great airflow. It will be perfectly fine for his build.
