Hey guys Need some help here
My Imation m250 1tb portable drive suddenly stopped working yesterday. When connected to the pc the disks spin and the led of the drive is static green, but the windows cannot detect the drive.
I tried swapping usb cables, connecting the drive to another computer and connecting it to ubuntu, but still no luck.
Sometimes when I adjust the mini usb port, some partitions of the disk appear a for a little while and then disappear. So I think mini usb port has a loose connection or something, but don't know for sure.
This drive still got warranty on it, but my problem is if I claim warranty for this drive will the vendor recover my data as well?
I kind of want some stuff in this drive.
Should I open the seal and look in to the disk?
Some people may have gone through a similar situation before so please share your ideas, opinions and experience here.
