Headphone jack not working?

For some reason, the headphone jack on my laptop (HP Pavilion G6-1325ea, which might have been discontinued) has seemed to stop working for some reason.

It was working fine about a week ago, but now nothing that I plug into it will play audio. Even Windows 8.1 claims that my headphones are "not plugged in."

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling drivers but nothing seems to work. I can't set the headphones to the default device either (the option is greyed out).

It can't be an on-board audio problem because the speakers still work and it can't be a problem with the headphones because they work on practically everything I could find with a 3.5mm jack, which includes another laptop.

I have no idea how to fix this issue and no solution has appeared yet. I also installed a Realtek HD audio codec, but that has since been uninstalled (it's an AMD APU laptop, after all)

And before you even think about asking; yes, the headphones are in fact plugged in.

Any suggestions?

Huge thanks in advance, by the way.

try to plug in speakers with the volume (speakers and laptop) turned on high

if you don't hear any "cracking" while you plug the speakers in then i feel sorry, because your 3,5mm jack might be broken

btw, because the integrated speakers are working doesn't mean that your jack is working as well

Actually, I am hearing crackling, so I've no idea why I can't get audio (although this crackling is quite faint). I'm thinking it might be a BIOS issue or a motherboard issue just because of this, but I'm still not sure.
