Hello all,
This is the first time I've even considered building my own computer and it is hugely intimidating. But I think I have something put together, it's a little over budget. So any suggestions to bring down the price to around £550 would be grand.

I could drop the dvd/cd writer, and I've only put down one 8gb of RAM for now, as I don't need to render immediately.

Building a computer is actually really easy :) I built my first one when I was 12 (I'm honestly not kidding). As for your build, I would recommend switching to an intel i5-4670k just because of your budget, remove the DVD burner, and like you've said, use 2x4Gb of RAM. You can also look at G. Skill Snipers if they're cheaper. If a seagate barracuda 1TB is cheaper, then definitely get that also. I also (expect) you to switch out the power supplies to something eg. Antec, Corsair, Seasonic, PC Power and Cooling, or NZXT Hale because if they break, they will damage most components that are unprotected.

Hi, thanks for the speedy response!
I had the Intel i7 primarily for the hyper threading, which I read was a bit of a must for rendering in rhino, maxwell etc. But also because apparently the motherboard won't allow for multipliers on the 4670? I could be wrong on all counts. As for the other suggestions I'll look into them now... A friend has also suggested getting an SSD instead of a normal hard drive, what're your thoughts?
