Hey.... I think I may have fried my CPU. I was messing around and trying to overclock my i7 4770k with my MSI z87 gd65 bios. I changed the multiplier from auto to 45, so the speed went from 3.5 to 4.5. I also bumped up the voltage from 1.2 to 1.3. After I confirmed this and saved, and rebooted, my pc hangs at "a2" in the bottom right corner. It just sits there forever. Did I fry my CPU? Are they THAT easy to break? I figured they were a little more idiot proof.... What should I do, really starting to freak out. Everything else turns on, my fans, LEDs, etc. I also don't have spare parts to swap out.

reset your cmos. use the cmos reset button on your mobo if you have one. if not, take out the battery for 15 seconds then replace.

your cpu should be fine but you did jump up the volts too quickly. 1.3v is quite a bit for a broadwell.

the best way to go about it is to increase the voltage little by little until you achieve stability.

Alright, I believe my battery is under the graphics card if I remember correctly. I take out the graphics card, pull out the battery, wait a bit, put it back, and in theory everything should be good?
