I have built my first computer with no help but videos from youtube. I put it all together to the best of my knowledge and it turns on but shuts off within 30 seconds. I dont know if i put something in the wrong place or maybe the parts dont go together. heres a list.

  • 3 of WD Blue 1 TB Desktop Hard Drive: 3.5 Inch, 7200 RPM, SATA 6 Gb/s, 64 MB
    Asus Z87-A DDR3 1600 LGA 1150 Motherboard
Asus 24x DVD-RW Serial-ATA Internal OEM Optical Drive DRW-24B1ST (Black)
    Corsair Vengeance 32GB (4x8GB) DDR3 1600 MHz (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory
EVGA GeForce GTX760 FTW with ACX Cooler 4GB GDDR5 256Bit
Corsair Professional Series 760 Watt Digital ATX/EPS Modular 80 PLUS Platinum Power Supply AX760i
Intel Core i7-4770K Quad-Core Desktop Processor 3.5 GHZ 8 MB
Corsair Hydro Series Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler H100i
Samsung Electronics 840 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5-Inch SATA III Desktop Kit Version Internal Solid State Drive
NZXT KHAOS Classic Series Full Tower

Is all that too much for the Power supply? I need help.

It sounds like there is an issue with the CPU fan, a system will make sure that there is an RPM siginal from the CPU fan, if there is not it will alarm and shutdown.

Make sure the RPM siginal wire from your H100 is plugged into the CPU Fan header.
You removed any shipping material from the heatsinc before fitting? its got heat transfer compound on there?

With these types of things its always best to keep to the KISS.

Keep it Simple Stupid,
Remove the H100, refit the stock fan. does it post?
remove the video card and use onboard, does it post and stay on?
remove additional Hard drives and just keep the SSD, does it post and stay on?

thats a good point and i tried taking the additional hdd off and it still shut off and i actually have the stock fan on there now. i was going to install the H100 later after it started working. Ill try removing the video card and see what happens and recheck my cables i used. thank you though. Ill let you know what happens when i do.
