I have my power supply plugged into an electrical outlet and switched it on but nothing happens. This is my first PC build so it is likely that I am just missing the obvious but I have checked the wiring thoroughly and have found nothing wrong and I have gone through a couple of troubleshooting guides but had no luck. The only thing I have found through troubleshooting is that I have no motherboard speaker but I am not sure that that is much of a problem. I would really appreciate any help.

Solution
Might have the case power switch plug plugged into the mobo backwards there is a a Positive and a ground side to the plug that has to be attached to the mobo pins correctly

Did you?
1 turn the power on at the mains
2 turn the power switch to on on the back of the power supply
3 connect the big plug on the power supply to the motherboard
4 connect the 4 or 8 pin plug on the power supply to the motherboard
5 connect your case power switch to the correct pins on your motherboard (make sure your not connecting the reset)
6 check the fuse hasnt blown on your power cable
