Hi,
I hope some of you people can help me here,..
Yesterday I came across on the internet that If I change the HDD configuration from IDE to AHCI in BIOS I'll get some performance boost, So I edited the registry as per (http://www.ocztechnologyforum.com/forum/showthread.php?69682-Change-from-IDE-to-AHCI-after-Installation)
and restarted to BIOS and I changed HDD setting from IDE to AHCI and then the system booted up normally installng AHCI drivers to windows. But I was not satisfied with crystal disk mark results.
Then as my mother board is Asus P7P55D-E I thought of connecting the Hard disk to SATA III port (6 GBs), So I installed Marvell 91xx drivers and then changed the "Marvell Controller setting" in BIOS from IDE to AHCI. So as of now my BIOS setting is
HDD setting : AHCI
Marvell Controller setting : AHCI
Again the system booted up normally and the Crystal disk result were same...So I decided to revert back to IDE and then made a stupid mistake.
I first uninstalled the Marvell drivers from Device manager and then restarted to BIOS and changed "HDD setting" from AHCI to IDE and "Marvell Controller setting" from AHCI to IDE and restarted thinking that I perfectly reverted back, I was wrong..
After restarting the Starting windows screen loads and immediately it goes in to Startup repair recovery mode and attempting repairs but in vain...I also changed the settings in BIOS with every possible combination like IDE to AHCI and vice versa but nothing works, It just goes to recovery mode and trying to attempt repairs but nothing happens..
I suspect that the issue is due to uninstalling Marvell drivers and something messed up in the booting area, If some of you can help me it would be greatly appreciated..
I think I explained the issue clearly, if not please let me know I'll provide screenshots as well..Thankyou,
My HDD: Seagate barracuda 7200.12
Motherboard: Asus P7P55D-E
