Rev 5* the black board. And I don't really intend on overclocking but if I could push 4 ghz the. I'd be happy.
id get a fx 6300 due to its close to a i5 3330
its the best performance per watt chip since its normal consumption is 77w
compared to the 8 series 100w

it can easily be clocked on a revision 5 board at 4ghz
Awesome thanks! And I was planning on getting the 8 core because I'll be recording games and video editing and I don't want it to affect the performance much plus the video rendering should be faster right?
i wouldnt try occing 8 core on the revision 5 due to fact that while it could occ a 6 core 2 extra cores cause problems it probly wont handle the extra power draw well and its more recomended to use a 970 chipset or higher with 8 series
the fx 6300 on the other hand will work well and is alot cooler then the phenom 125w processors so you wont get heat issues
its max operating temp is round 61c with aftermarket cooling expect to be idling round the 28-32 region at stock when gaming or rendering round 45c occed round 55c should be your goal to keep it round here these temps i base of my old fx 8120 which is considered hotter then the piledriver revision so you may get even better temps especially with a 6 core.
heres some benchmarks to drive my point home on how much the 8 core is hyped very few games are using all 8 cores bf4 being only one i could comment is at present
