Do you have another computer you can connect it to and see if you get the same results? It could either be the drive is failing or there could be something wrong with the electronics of the enclosure. That is just two possibilities. If the problem is the enclosure, and the drive is out of warranty, you could try removing the drive and connecting it via a doc or SATA to USB cable.

i tried with my PC too...but its still the same.also my ext.HDD is under warrenty still but when i contacted the WD customer care regarding this problem, they are ready to replace this product with new one but seems that they wont be recovering my data back. BUT all i need the most is my DATA !!!.

Did you try, uninstalling and re-installing all drivers and the WD software?! I am not sure if you can see the drive, when you boot into safe mode, but give it a try. I have bringing it up now, but a lot of people treat an external hard drive as a backup drive?! Never ever just have ALL your Data on just one drive! Let this be a lesson to you! Hope you can recover all your files!!!

thanks,
