Hello all,
So as you can tell from the title, I'm having some trouble starting up my custom built computer. It was running pretty well (see background info) for 6 weeks, until today. I got an 'overclocking failed' message on my monitor so I decided to go in to my BIOS and reset my CPU to default. I then reset my computer using the feature on the ASUS BIOS and from that point on, I could no longer get any display when starting up my computer.

So here's what happens when I turn it on:
- The fans start spinning (CPU, GPU, Case)
- I get a receive a red light on the motherboard labelled CPU_LED for about 5 seconds until the light goes away.
- I get no display on my monitor

He's a bit of background info.
Around 2 weeks ago, I got a 'overclocking failed' message so I went in to my BIOS to see what happened. No settings were changed from before (when it was working just fine on 4.1ghz). I decided to reset my computer and see what happened. I got the message again. I changed the CPU multiplier to 3.9ghz. I reset the computer and I still had no luck. I then changed it to 3.5 and it finally started working again. About a week later I got the message again and changed it to 3.4ghz and that was that. So, I was at the default speed with increased voltage.

I'm guessing that because I set the CPU back to default, the voltage also changed back to the normal one and somehow that voltage isn't enough to handle 3.4ghz. Now if this is true, then there would have to be something wrong with my CPU. Although, like I said, I'm just guessing here.

Finally, here are my PC specs:

If you need any more information, I've got the time to give it you :)

Thanks in advance for the help everyone.

Solution
1. Check for bent pins on the CPU Socket. See that no thermal paste is seeping there and then after ensuring these reinsert your CPU.
2. Check all PSU connections to ensure they are tightly fit in the socket.
3. Try flashing your bios to a newer or the current version, it should help.
Sorry for the late reply.
