Odd Performance With Light - Heavy Overclocking

To start off with, I'm running an AMD FX-6350 on an Asus M5A97 LE R2.0 under a 750W PSU. For about a few weeks, I've been trying to overclock it to at least 4.1 Ghz from a stock clock of 3.9 through AMD overdrive. The stability test confirms that the CPU is, infact, stable. However, in games, the game literally runs faster; I move much faster. The FPS isn't much higher from what I can tell, but it is not stable; it usually changes much faster than usual. Still happens at 4.0 Ghz. I've had no problems overclocking the video card, or other CPUs in the past. Is the problem in the motherboard?

i had this problem with the bully game, it turns out there was an fps cap so make sure you;re not unlocking the games fps limit, try down clocking to your stock speeds and see if the fps goes back to normal and do a virus and anti malware scan to make sure its not attempting to speed up the process (in a way that a hack would, if youve ever used cheat engine before youll know this)
