Hi to all good people here,

I'm trying to build a PC by price/performance motto :)

Currently I have a AMD CPU so I'm going for AMD but not necessarily ( open for Intel :D ).

I'm from Croatia so I can bay from Croatian shops (protis.hr, nabava.net) and ebay or amazon.

Lets go for the components:

1. Motherboard : Asrock 970 Pro3 R2.0 ($87) or Asrock 970 Extreme3($95)
2. CPU: An FX series but I don't know witch one OR maybe A series ( is there a big difference )
on AMD site A10-7850K ((4 CPU + 8GPU)) what are those?
3. Memory(min 8GB, 2x4GB): I found very cheap one
->DDR3 4GB CORSAIR PC3-12800 (1600MHZ) 240-PIN - VENGEANCE (CMZ4GX3M1A1600C9) ($35 - new)
or on ebay
-> 12GB DDR3 Desktop RAM (3x4GB) Ballistix Sport (1600MZ) on auction
4. HardDisk -> I going for an SSD , not really familiar with this, any suggestions what to buy?
5. Graphic card - Have an Ati Radeon HD4600 (1GB)
6. Power-supply -> min power needed for selected CPU.

And here is what for I'm going to use the PC:

1. SoftXpand http://www.miniframe.com/technology/softxpand.html
-> 2 x Monitor , 1x TV
2. Skyrim and TES Online, and newer games AC IV or so :D
3.Photoshop
4. IAR, CCS 5, Altium designer, some simulation software like ADS(advance design system)

budget: 300-500 USD

Thanks for any help.

Best Regards,

David.

1. Motherboard : Asrock 970 Extreme3
2. CPU: FX 6300

An APU comes with integrated graphics, but as you are going to use a dedicated graphic card, no use of APU.

3. Memory(min 8GB, 2x4GB): 4GB CORSAIR VENGEANCE (CMZ4GX3M1A1600C9)
4. HardDisk -> SSD is expensive. Get a 1TB HDD Western Digital Caviar Blue (7200rpm)
5. Graphic card - Have an Ati Radeon HD4600 (1GB)
6. Power-supply -> 500W PSU (Corsair CX 500 or Corsair VS550)

->Asus M5A97 R2.0 ($108) http://www.protis.hr/products/details/maticna-ploca-asu...

CPU: FX 6300

2x4GB ($72)
But I didn't found CMZ4GX3M1A1600C9 in memory support list of the motherboards will it work???

Harddisk SSD SATA III 120 GB Kingston SSDNow V300 , 2,5", SV300S37A/120G

Yeah looks good. Asus M5A97R2.0 is a good board. However, try to get Asus M5A97 Evo R2.0. Good for overclocking in future.
And no use of an SSD. It will just help in loading times. Like reducing Windows boot time, loading games faster etc. Better get a HDD with larger capacity 1TB. You'll save quite some money.

I bought ASUS M599X EVO R2.0, AMD FX-6300 Black Edition, 8GB DDR3 1600MHz.
Can I use power supply attached to this post for the configuration?

Well technically yes, you can use that 400W PSU. However, it's the minimum required PSU for your system. It's always advisable to go for at least a 100W more than the required power. So if you can, get at least a 500W PSU, else this should work fine too. However, I do not have any idea about the quality of that PSU brand. Never heard of it.

Again, I have no idea about those two brands. 500W is goods but quality matters a lot in a PSU. A good PSU is this one: Corsair VS 550W.

Thanks tshrjain for the support.
Sorry for my stupid questions and this is the last time :)

What about those?

I got a question about a graphic card.
It is not for gaming.

Is this any good?
On what should I watch when I buy graphic cards?

Personally I like Cooler Master PSU. I think they are good. Use a Cooler Master PSU myself and its been working great till now. But some people advise on avoiding it due to the capacitor in it. The brand that makes that capacitor is known to be criticized a lot by many people. And no idea on LC-Power PSU.

As for the card it is a good card but with below average performance for modern games.
Here are some statistics:
* Grand theft Auto 4 Medium Setting No Lag 28 FPS
* Spiderman 3 Highest Setting No Lag 30 FPS
* Prototype Highest Setting No Lag 22 FPS
* Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2 High Setting No Lag 30 FPS
* Farcry 2 Highest Setting No Lag 25 FPS
* Max Payne 3 Medium Setting No Lag 22 FPS

You can get an idea of how this card will perform on various games.
