I'm looking to host a minecraft server from my home. I have great internet speeds (150 mbs) and want a machine that I can run a server off of. I look to hold the max amount of players that I can (Hopefully like 100+). What would be a good build?
I was figuring something like:
Intel Xeon E3-1230
An SSD for boot and another dedicated to the minecraft server
32Gb RAM
Something like that more or less.
I'd like to get my moneys worth. Donations will help me pay for everything and I get a pretty decent amount of donations for the server's current player base. I currently host from a minecraft server host for like $40 per month and I can't say I like it. I'd rather host from something I can always rely on and have full access to the machine. I'm not sure if it's better to run from windows server or something like windows 7. I can get the operating systems for free from microsoft (I'm a student).
I don't have a particular Budget but I don't want to regret buying this either. I'd like the option to host other game servers off of this.
Thanks for the help.

XEON, 32GB of fast RAM, SSD for OS and MC, 2 HDDs for RAID1 to keep the world save backed up, and a basic GPU because the XEON does not have integrated graphics.
