Budget is around 1300 (no monitor or OS needed). I want my PC to EASILY handle Photoshop, Light Room, and eventually video editing. Not much, if any, gaming will take place but the option would be nice. Every build I come up with his $100-200 more than this Dell pre-built, and seems to be missing something crucial (SSD, less than 16gb RAM, etc) Should I just buy this PC and call it a day?

It can play games but not totally maxed out but it can do all that easily. I like that deal actually. It's a damn beast for the price!! My PC is 3rd of this and it's decent with games. And it you end up building it'll be a lol more expensive

More issues:

k series CPU with non-overclocking low end motherboard.
WAY overkill PSU. 500w is more than enough for that computer.

Think I'm going to go with the Dell. Seems like there's not a big gain in building my own and may just lead to headaches down the road. Like I said, gaming is very secondary and I just need a PC that will power through photo editing without frustration.

Thanks for everyone's help!

This has problems.

You cannot overclock that CPU so drop the CPU cooler and change to an H87 motherboard.

Other than that, it should be better than the Dell except for having half the RAM. It will be about 5x as powerful for gaming though.

Thanks, have no intentions of overclocking so I did as you said. Also boosted ram to 32gb, final cost ended up being about $1425. Now I just gotta pull the trigger, lol

Would anyone be able to give some insight on how "bad" the on-board graphics would be if I were to omit the dedicated GPU? I see this as something I could live without, as long as it does not hinder everyday tasks and photoshop performance.
