i just bought a new pc. i have nothing installed in it except the os (windows 8.1 x64) which came with it as a package

my problem is that when i put in the graphics card (gtx 650 ti), the monitor says 'no signal' but i'm sure it boots up correctly

i removed the graphics card and used the onboard instead and it worked.

next i put in the graphics card from my old pc (geforce 210) and it works too even without installing any drivers

i have a vga to dvi adapter to connect with the gtx 650 ti since my monitor uses vga

i called the shop where i bought them and the person said i have to change something in the bios but he has no idea what, me either!

the motherboard is gigabyte ga-b85m-hd3. secure boot is already disabled. please help me!

yes the power cable is plugged in the card, somewhere in the lower-left/upper right corner (don't know which is the card's face xD). i just installed the driver, the cd recognized that the card is there while i'm still using the onboard card since it still doesn't work. still doesn't work even with the driver installed though.

i'm gonna remove the cmos battery now

nope, didn't work :(

i noticed that i can't access the bios if the 650 ti is plugged in even though i'm using the onboard card, the monitor receives no signal until the pc has finished booting up

but if the 650 ti is not connected the monitor receives signal immediately and i can see the bios

I was in the same problem.. And the final solution is just go to your BIOS settings and change the slot from IGFX to PCI E slot and you are ready to go...............
