Intel i5 3570k (4,8Ghz) vs Intel i7 3770k?

Hello , i have cpu intel i5 3570k , recently i started to do 3d modeling ,(softwares Blender and Maya) and i noticed that my final projects are rendering a bit slow so i decided to either:
1. Buy a liquid cooling (Corsair H100i or Cooler Master Seidon 240M) and overclock my current cpu to 4.8Ghz.
2. Invest some money in new cpu intel i7 3770k.

Which solution would give me better performance boost in rendering?

Hey mate.
i7 is made for rendering, everywhere you go and read, they will say this.
It has a function called : HYPERTHREADING = adding more virtual cores so it can render files more faster

If you do some 3D work and some video editing an i7 IS A MUST!

Good question, what GPU you have? In 3D work graphics card have a big inpact!

Spending a heap on overclocking then leaving your cpu at max for hours at a time isnt really the answer. I would imagine a non k 3770 would be a better proposition. Just remember you will gain but it wont be astounding.
Rendering by GPU Acceleration, however (using a graphics core) Now THAT could give a STAGGERING IMPROVEMENT!

I'm most interested in the difference between Higer Clock Speed and More Virtual Cores. So if more cores are better for rendering then higer clock speed i will go with 3770k.
So far i am happy with my GPU , main problem here is when it comes to rendering , all 4 cores go to 100% usage.

Hyperthreading is really functioning .i have i3 and all threads are working . Just look at some tests .

Any chip will goto 100%, its just hyperthreading will mean it takes about 13% less time. There are still only 4 cores, so you should really look to the gpu which has 100's of streams to do it with.
