hey there,
i am about to build my first rig for my course i am studying at university. i am quiet crucial with time and would need to make this order as soon as possible as my laptop has died.

i am wondering what the better option for me would be as right now, i can get the asus gtx 770 fairly cheap and a palit 4gb jetstream would only cost me another 50 pounds.
now if i do go for the evga option, that would cost me another 100 pounds and i would want to know if there are any massive differences between the asus and the evga?

and if i did go for the palit 4gb jetstream, it will allow me to use multiple windows in the future, would that eventually be the same as having 2 asus gtx 770 2gb's or would that bring more power and overpower a titan even?

thank you i am quiet crucial with time and would love to hear your comments and opinions below thank you
harry

4GB is 4GB of VRAM, it does not mean that it has the power of two 2GBs. It just simply has more VRAM; which is useful for higher resolutions. A GTX 770 will perform like a GTX 770. Nothing more until you start overclocking, then you could likely get to the speeds of a GTX 780. I'd say go with the ASUS (as long as it has the DirectCU II cooler), as it is cheaper and will yield the same performance as the Palit and EVGA.

I would go for the 4GB card if you are a gamer. Opinion is that 2GB is fine for most games in 1080p, but a few games work better with more than 2GB and this trend is only going to continue. A highly modded Skyrim can already end up using 5GB vram.

The 4GB cards cost more, in the case of the Palit it currently cost about £40 more than the same Palit card with 2GB. If you go SLI, now or in the future, you are limited by the vram of one card. Two 2GB cards in SLI does not equal 4GB vram it still only equals 2GB. Another reason to go for the higher vram.

By buying Asus you paying more for the reputation, possibly better cooling, possibly better stock overclock etc etc. If you intend to overclock yourself or change the cooler or wont use the Asus software you may as well go for a lesser brand. Apparently Palit are very good with customer service, but I could be wrong.
