Is the FX 8320 a decent choice if I want to be gaming at max settings (with 270x in crossfire) for the next 5 years? What about the 6300? I dont want to hear about Intel.

Solution
well if you won't consider Intel, the FX 8320 is likely one of the ONLY choices you have, since AMD's new line up for 2014 consists solely of APUs and lower power tablet/mobile processors. however, an FX 8320 is fine and can stay competitive for quite a while if you give it a nice overclock with a compatible motherboard and a decent air cooler.

and a R9 270x crossfire is enough, in the future crossfire can only get more stable, and a R9 270x crossfire has shown the potential to match the R9 290x, so that's very good and will likely be enough raw performance for a long while imo

but like other people have said, there's no way to predict beyond even 2 years, as technology moves fast, I'd say that you'll be fine though, maybe not for 5...

The crystal ball starts getting cloudy after 3 or 4 years... but the 8320 should be fine in games. I'd think about a gtx 770 (and another one later on) instead of the 270x CrossFire, but either way, the 8320 should be fine. If you want a little more longevity out of it, get a decent mobo and cpu cooler so you can overclock it when needed.

The FX-8320 is a great CPU and will let you play every game for the next few years. But 5? No way. No current CPU will let you play games at max settings in 5 years. But I still highly recommend it.
And also buy a powerful single GPU instead of two weaker ones, like a GTX 780 or an R9 290.
