Asus RMA GONE GOOD

SO I sent my asus maximus iv to asus for an rma and wouldn't you believe it I get it today and they send me back the NEWEST VERSION THE ASUS VI EXTREME well I have an lga 1155 brand new 3570k so I need a 1150 now lol luckily I can get a refund for the 1155 but my question is I bought a h100 corsair and it doesn't say 1150 support but looking at it its the same size socket will this work with my 1150 or do I need to return it as well?

1150, 1155, 1156 all have the same mounting points, so it will work.

They do that if they no longer produce or stock the product you sent in. That sometimes does conflict with retailers as they might have the item in stuck but Asus themselves do not, thats the mostly likely the reason they sent you a newer/upgraded version.

ok well I just read a couple peoples posts about the h100 and saying it wont fit on their h100 socket are you absolutely sure it will mount up and everything on this board correctly

ok good well I just put the bracket on the back of my mobo it seems kind of loose is it susposed to be like that until the actual pump and everything is in place?

Only if the back bracket and the pins are installed, once you install risers it should not be loose.

ok thanks I need an I7 4770k asus sent me the newest board back from rma cause I guess they didn't have the iv or couldn't fix it so they sent me the vi delux which im not mad z87 chipset and shit so now im stuck with an i5 3570k 1555 need the 1150 you know anywhere that wants to swap and a 100 bucks let me know

Were you not able to return your i5 3570k? I do not know of any places that would allow you a trade+cash for a newer or higher end cpu. If you cannot get a refund and return on your 3570k I strongly recommend you contact Asus again and have them work whatever magic they can to get you an 1155 board.

yeah I got it returned luckily I had a few days left so everything is good thanks for all the advice going to get the 4770k know any places that have good deals on processors

It all depends on where you are, for NA I usually pick items up from NCIX or NewEgg. I think NCIX has a deal right now where if you buy a 4670k or a 4770k you get a free copy of total war rome ii, just throwing that out there.
