I have Microsoft 1000 mobile usb mouse. Using win 8 all started out ok. Then is started getting choppy and has bad lag. Initially when it was ok it was on front usb header, when it started going wrong I put it in the back port thinking that would help, it didn't.

Updated display drivers swapped usb devices around, nothing seems to have helped. Maybe closing all the processors one by one to see if it's software related.

Any thoughts most appreciated

Hi,

If I'm correct in saying this, your mouse is wireless?

Usually swapping around the mouse to another USB port solves these sort of problems mainly due to I/O bus re-recognising the placement of the mouse and reassigning itself to work with the mouse.

But even after all you've done, it sounds like the receiver of the mouse has gone faulty. You can try closing all your unnecessary processes but I doubt that will make much difference unless you recently installed something new.

In terms of whether the receiver is faulty, this may be on the mouse end or the receiver, so you may want to experiment with a replacement receiver before replacing the whole unit.

Kind Regards,

Erkin
