For the speakers, sice you have both of them just plug them in and see how you like each.

HDMI or DMI doesn't really matter for frame rates. Whichever cable you have will do (though HDMI carries audio generally).

Not all hdmi cables support higher frame rates, I suggest dual link dvi with a separate audio cable. Just my preference
