bf4 extreme low fps and freezes

Hi guys,

i'm new here.
another thread/question about fps in BF4.
I'm having huge fps issues and freezes. While playing MP my fps drops to avg 10 fps, goes back up to 80-120fps and back down. The drops are all the time, every map, any server (just jumping around like crazy). Even with 10-16 players small maps
Freezes occure every 5 min or so.
Same problem playing single player (not as bad, but still unplayable).
I don't have those problems with other games (i.e. crysis 3) at high settings 1920x1080 avg of about 70fps.
tested with 3dmark11.

Settings BF4: everything low; res turned down to 1600x900; res scale turned down to 75%; no v-sync .

system specs:
fx-6300 @4.5ghz
gygabite 970-ud3
sapphire r9 270 (core 1000mhz / mem 1450)
corsair 600W (bronze 80% eff)
8gb ram corsair

already reinstalled origin, game, updates, drivers, bios (flash), every possible setting, clean mem with rammap, change pagefile, use ingame cmd to change settings like renderaheadlimit.

At the moment i can only think of the game, but it's a bit crazy.
I know i don't have an high end gaming system, but fps dropping down to less then 10 fps is extreme.

That is weird, do you have any other programs running while playing bf4? Malware and viruses seem to be a leading cause of cpu throttles. I would try a scan with malwarebytes free, then go in your msconfig and disable all startup programs except your anti virus of course.

Not sure this is true. I play battlefield 4 with fx-8120 and gtx 560 solid 60fps on a server with 64players and don't have issues.

Going to have to agree with this. People say that BF4 is extremely buggy and not optimized whatsoever. The only problems I've ever had was with disconnecting due to the servers. I've never had any issue hardware wise. i5-4670k & SLI 780s. I've never had FPS spikes, dips, or the like, no problems with SLI. Nothing. I've played since Beta and played for a while into release.

Well if it isn't the game what could cause spikes, dips and freezes like this.
I mean it's not a small dip. it goes from about 100fps to less then 10 fps
Both multiplayer as singleplayer.

small update:
last night i checked Ram modules and renewed my thermal paste between cpu and cooler but nothing.
I do see with every spike all the cores are maxed out.
temperature of cpu doesn't go above 40°C and gpu max 35°C.
with the ingame performance test i do have packet loss sometimes.

no other programs running.
cpu on average about 80%
gpu on average about 60%
Ram on average about 40% (doesn't go above 5 Gb of usage).
Just the spikes to 100% cpu usage and then they drop back to 60%-80%

i have bitdefender internet security suite 2013 (up to date). already scanned the system a couple of times.
according to some tests it should be one of the best.
did the scan you said came up nothing.

Then instead of disabling startup programs did a complete new install of windows.
installed drivers,AV, BF4

Works like a charm now. don't know what was causing it, but might be like Idewitt said som infected files, virus or malware.
Don't know either why the new installs wouldn't work before.

Glad everything is working good now. To be honest not one AV can detect all thats out there thats why i suggested you try malwarebytes out because they usually pick up what top PAID AV's don't!
