Need suggestions for new video card. Please

I'm trying to boost the gaming potential of my pc so I'm looking at getting a new video card, but I could use suggestions when it comes to compatibility. This is my system:

What's your budget for the video card?

What is your budget? I would get an AMD CPU if you're on a budget like it looks like you are.

Also, drop the SSD, and use that money to upgrade the GPU

No budget really. Just tryin to find the best bang for my buck. This is my pc I built about 3 years ago. Just trying to boost it's gaming potential.

Oh ok, gotcha. Was wondering why you chose that as a new CPU lol

And right now, the best bang for the buck is around a 270(x) or 760. Both will max out pretty much everything as of right now, and should be good for at least high settings for the next few years or so. I have a 760 MSI HAWK myself, and it's a beast for $260

Get a GTX760 or GTX770 and you have a good gaming rig!

they should work with your psu.
GTX 760 is 18% faster than R9 270 . But R9 270 is an awesome video card.

Pretty much any GPU will work on a PSU with 684 watts on the +12 volt rail!

The links are messed up.
Best bang per buck is probably the GTX760 and it'll be a good match for the rest of the system, the R9 270 is somewhat slower but either is a big improvement on the currently installed HD7750.
And BTW, the CPU would very much like to be overclocked.

pci express 3 video cards are going to work on my motherboard? On the board itself it says pci express 2.0
although the website says something about gen 3 support

PCIe 3.0 cards are backwards compatible with PCIe 2.0
