Will it burn my CPU or motherboard?

8gb ram
ASUS motherboard (new)
2tb hdd

That is not true at all.... I use 4 monitors on 1 card, it goes down to idle clocks all the time when i'm not gaming... Did the same thing with my gtx 680, and using a gtx 780 ti right now... It was also never an issue when i had a gtx 570 with 2 monitors...

true idle. i.e. 50Hz, or just 2d clocks? my 470 didn't (it was remarked on in some reviews) and nvidia claimed it was a hardware level issue. I suppose they could have fixed that in driver updates if it was not an actual hardware issue. It was one of the big points between the 5850/70 and the 470/80.

Yea that should work fine... I use 4 monitors on my GTX 780 Ti... display port + HDMI + DVI-D + DVI-I no issues.

You should see pretty much no performance difference when adding the second monitor (Unless of course for some reason you span your game across both monitors).

out of curiosity, what are the lowest gpu clock speeds you get down to?
