GPU drivers causing random reboots?

Hey guys, I have a problem in which my PC "randomly" reboots, the screen freezes for a couple seconds and the system soft reboots(no fans turn off). I have noticed that this usually happens when I wake the computer up from sleep mode or when idle for a long time. Like, when the computer goes to sleep and I wake it up(by pressing a key or moving the mouse) it turns on and will let me use the PC for around 1 min and then it will freeze and reboot. I have also noticed that if I turn of the sleep option in the windows power options, if I leave the PC on say the background for a while and the image does not move. When I start to use it, the same thing as above happens. Now, this started happening after I installed new GPU drivers, my dad was using the PC a day after and the video driver kept crashing(screen goes black and turns on again) and it also rebooted once. But, after a while the driver stopped crashing so I thought the problem was over. My question is could the reboots be caused by the drivers? I ran who crashed and it have me the stop code 0x124 every single time the PC reboot. Who crashed also says that this means a fatal hardware error (possible overheating) , but it also says it could be caused by an unknown driver, so is it the GPU drivers that are causing rebooting or is a hardware problem?

Thanks in advance :)

It sounds like the driver is doing this so i would recommend downloading an old version of the driver, preferably the one you had before and see if that helps

I should also add that the new driver I installed was a beta driver. This probably increases the possibility that it is the driver doesn't it? So I should wipe my current drivers and install the regular amd ones? (My GPU is a r7 260x)

Yes that is probably the cause. Uninstall the beta drivers (your screen will probably go to a low resolution) then go to AMD's site and download the latest non-beta drivers and then see if this fixes the problem
