Solution
You'll have alot of suggestions here, please look carefully.
in any case you haven't told us what parts you dont need (monitor, CD-rom, HDD, mouse/keyboard, Windows etc').

Here's a build without all of the above, so its focusing on pure performance:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($199.99 @ Microcenter)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($29.98 @ OutletPC)
Motherboard: Asus Z87-PRO ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($172.99 @ NCIX US)
Memory: Kingston Beast 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-2133 Memory ($89.98 @ PCM)
Storage:...

Well how about an i7 non OC, the "z" series motherboard is for the possibility of SLI in the future, an 240Gb SSD for your projects/programs and the rest speaks for itself. The monitor is one of the best looking IPS displays for the money:

Storage: Kingston SSDNow V300 Series 240GB 2.5" Solid State Disk ($130.98 @ Newegg)
Video Card: Zotac GeForce GTX 780 3GB Video Card ($491.98 @ SuperBiiz)

You can give up the SSD and downgrade the i7 to an i5 (not much of a difference) and get a 780ti instead of the normal 780 if you wish :)
