Hey there. I was planning on getting another 770. My current total wattage according to the Wattage calculator is 580W with a second 770.

Would this be risky or completely fine?

More about : gtx770 sli 650w

What is the model of you 650w PSU? If it is a good brand that should be fine (possibly cutting it close), however if it isn't you will have problems

Hey there, my psu is a Rosewill HIVE Series HIVE-650 650W Continuous @40°C, 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified (modular)
Not sure if this is considered good or not.

its considered ok but its definitely not top notch which is what you really want if you are going to be stressing your psu to the limits

Alright, I don't plan on Overclocking, so do you recommend any sort of other psu I can buy?

Also this might be a bit unrelated, but my 770 is a little on the hot side. If I get another 770 and SLI it, will they share the gfx load and potentially run cooler?

XFX, Corsair, and Seasonic are very well known, highly reliable, well performing brands. I would choose something in the 700-750 watt range.

No way would I try 2 x GTX 770s on a 650w PSU. 850 watts is recommended.

Seasonic, XFX, Rosewill, OCZ, PC Power and Cooling, Corsair ( except CX and RM ), Silverstone, Enermax or Antec. Any of those brands will ensure quality.

Only if you have VSYNC enabled which limits your FPS to your monitors refresh frequency, otherwise they will both run as fast as possible. How warm does it run?

My gtx770 is from Gigabyte (windforce) it runs at 80C normally but sometimes shoots up to 85 and I have to limit it with evga X. I'm not really sure if this is normal but I heard the GPU boost is suppose to limit it at 80C

There is a fan blowing over it currently, still goes to those temps

Nvidia cards run in Sli not Crossfire. GTX 770s and HD 7970s are completely different cards based on entirely different architectures and can not be directly compared in any way what so ever including operating temperatures. Therefore your experiences with any AMD card has no bearing on his Nvidia setup.

They are similar heat comparision wise, 7970s run hotter than most 770s depending on what cooler it has. If its a blower style 770 that explains it.

Ive also had a sli setup, the temps with enough airflow and directed fans even at 100% load shouldnt really ever be over 75 80c which is 100% safe either way.

Also was going between a few different posts. Didnt mean to say xfire

Okay, well it does stick to 80 when I limit it and set the fan to Auto. So I think it should be good then. If 80C is normal, then i was worrying for nothing

what is the fan speed running at auto? a custom fan curve might be the way to go if you don't care about noise, I set mine to 100% fan speed around 75c even though it isn't needed.

you can run your card at 80c no problem
