Do I save power with SeaSonic Platinum?

so $64NZD = 53.25 USD more
The question being over 5years+ would I save that much money in power usage? Power ain't cheap here (Approximate cost at $0.235NZD = 0.20 USD per kWh (Incl. GST)

Lets use local currency to make this easier. There is a price difference of $64, and electricity cost $0.235/kWh, that means you need to save 272.34 kWh in the efficiency difference. If we assume a payoff period of 5 years that is 54.47 kWh/year.

If we assume both have a 750W load(in practice it will be much lower) and the gold is 87% efficient and the platinum if 89% efficiency they will consume 862.1W and 842.7W respectively. This is a difference of 19.4W. In order to save 54,470 Wh(54.47 kWh) your computer would have to be running at 750W load for 2807 hours, that is 7.7 hours per day at full load.

If your system is running at 600W(80% of 750W), you would need to run it for 9.6 hours per day. Thats not a practical payoff...

probably using it about 45? hours a week, a mixture of different things on it gaming, multi Media, programming, making backups, surfing net etc
also might be going with i5 4670 as cpu & Toxic 280x if that helps, the Toxic recamends a 750W PSU so thought it might be a safer option to go with the 760W version

One of the links in my sig, i have covered PSU efficiency myths, one of the big ones is that 80+ was meant for individual consumers, it was not. It was meant for the corporate environment where every extra watt of heat you generate requires you to spend even more power removing it via AC. It is generally difficult to pay off the price difference between a gold and platinum unit and not worth it to the end user.
