Hello, my current setup is:
GPU: Nvidia gt g40m 2gb
CPU: Core quad q6600
RAM: 2gb ddr2 :(
OS: Win Vista 32-bit
HDD: 268 GB or something like that
Motherboard: Dell. Not sure but only know it only supports ddr2.

My computer is very slow to load programs. and often crashes on games and other programs. Im not sure if this a matter of RAM or what.

Thanks

Solution
Your current processor runs about 33% the speed of current processors, RAM should be upgraded to at least 4GB - 8GB would be better, you need a 64-bit operating system (Windows 7/Windows 8), a SSD would definitely speed things up, the hard drive is probably PATA, and the GPU is on the lower end of the scale.

Not to dash your dreams - I would repurpose that computer, and look at building new....you might save money keeping the case....
