I've been having a few issues recently with my desktop before it just stopped working. I bought an SSD and reinstalled Windows 7 about 2 months ago, and that seems to be where the problems began. My computer would occassionally black screen and sometimes the fans would slightly get louder along with the mouse and keyboard becoming unresponsive. Other times the computer would just shut off with no warning at all. Every time either of those errors happened however, the computer would still be able to be turned on. Granted sometimes it couldn't make it past the screen that gives you the BIOS key list, but all I had to do was reset it again.
Today I reset my PC and when it came back on it got stuck on the BIOS screen like it sometimes does. So I reset it, and again, and another 4 times until it wouldn't even load up to that screen. Now when I turn the computer on I get no screen telling me anything.
Obviously the first thing I looked into was the SSD. I tried unplugging it and turning the computer on (I have two more hard drives that I never reformatted also plugged in). I got to the boot screen after doing that, and Windows even started loading. But after I reset and tried again like 20 times it never booted up to the BIOS screen.
I also tried switching the RAM to no avail. I'm running dual monitors and they are both functioning fine (it's definitely not a monitor issue). My only guesses are the motherboard, power supply, or video card, but I don't have extras of any laying around to test. My mobo does not have onboard graphics so I can't plug a monitor into it to check. The computer is apparently getting signal, and the lights and fans all turn on with no problems. I'm able to hold the shutdown button and it turns off like expected.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
