i plan to game constaintly day/ night
also i like to do basic pc usage music/ web browsing/ youtube/ email that kinda basic usage. so i don't foresee myself in need of a fx 8350 due to the amount of cores sure it costs less but i hear intel is better for gaming :)
so i'm sure i will choose the i5 4670, it feels like it will suit my needs perfect. now for gaming i still haven't played skyrim... so i will be playing older games from 2013 & below so i don't need to oc or sli but i can have those features available for when i'v catched up with older games :) so i a. still debating on the 3rd gen or 4th gen i5 for gaming though if i get 4th gen il be future provable so probably the i5 4670 :) what do you think

yes, the LGA 1150 socket motherboard is compatible with both i5-4670 and i5-4670k. in order to overclock though, you need to make sure the motherboard is a z87 chipset motherboard, as the h87 motherboards cannot overclock. If you don't plan to overclock, just get an H87 motherboard, i5-4670. if you plan to overclock, get a z87 motherboard and an i5-4670k.

Also, the stock Intel cooler does not provide sufficient cooling for overclocking, in which you will then need to get an aftermarket CPU cooler such as a Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO.
