What printer can I use that will respond more than once without needing to have the drivers re-installed after one print Job?
Formerly Die-hard Hewlett-Packard devotee, but, not anymore. Tried Epson. Forget them. Now trying Canon. One print-job max output. It's been sitting for six months. What I wouldn't give to have one of my old "Tractor Feed" printers back. Working with OS X 10.6.8.
Thanks in advance for any help and suggestions.

its likely an issue with either your hook up or your computer. i've used all three brands and they work fine, multiple times in a row.

you complain about the printers and want a fix yet dont state most of the required information.

-how do you have the printer hooked up? (usb cable, wifi printer on network, cat5 to network router, etc)
-if you tried connecting via usb and printing that way (if not already connected this way)
-if the printer works with other computers
-if you tried getting the newest software from the vendor (go to the website and download the newest drivers)
-what program you are printing from
-how long you let the system sit before trying to print
-if the system is on when you try to print (sometimes they are in sleep...

-etcetera.

if you want help you need to provide details. otherwise from what you gave us we have to assume the printers work fine and its just your system or connection or how you are trying to print. (i highly doubt so many printers are defective)
