I have the following hardware:

1 x AMD Radeon R9 280x
1 x LG 24EA53VQ

The plan is to buy 2 more of the monitors above as theyre pretty cheap and IPS pannels so better than TN pannels for angles.

Can i do the following ?

Play a game on the middle monitor and browse / play youtube on the other 2 monitors? i'm a little confused how this would work as the middle monitor would essentially be using the mouse as it's full screen i.e. in a FPS. so how would you select my browser whilst in the middle of a game?

i play DayZ and a friend tells me he has 2 monitors, one for full screen gaming and the other with the map of the game for quick reference. i assume he cant interact with the map whilst playing unless he runs the game in windowed mode.

totally confuses me, is it possible ? if so how ?

would this resolve the issue? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qgQGDC-MC6k "Actual Multiple Monitors" - Taken from another website
There is a function "Ignore deactivation" among all AMM's features, which causes an application ignore the "focus lost" notification from the system, so the window's host application continues to "think" that the window remains active.

is there any way of having windows recognise a 2nd keyboard / mouse combo and restricting its use to certain windows?

ANY help appreciated.

If the game is full screen, you wouldn't be able to utilize either of the other monitors while in the game. You would need to Alt+Tab out of the game to scroll to your other monitors. Your other option (if the game supports it) is to run the game a Windowed. This treats the game as just another Window on your desktop, allowing you to scroll between your screens. I also have noticed that the game doesn't perform as well in Windowed mode but try for yourself and see how your system handles it.

thanks for taking the time out to reply.

what about that "ignore deactivation" setting within the software i mentioned above ? actual monitors? i believe that setting prevents the fullscreen game from knowing that it's been alt / tabbed therefore continues running therefore enabling interaction with another window ? i.e. to read a game walkthrough etc...

While you are playing full-screen on one monitor, usually you can't do anything on others: best-case scenario is that the game pauses while you're trying to activate a new window on another screen. Worse case scenario: the game auto-hides.

Actual Multiple Monitors has a feature that forces the game to ignore its deactivation and remain active and operative while you are working with other windows. Thus, you can chat with your friends, surf the web for game hints/solutions, and learn game tactics on a spare monitor, without interrupting gameplay.

but is this the solution ?????
